This is the 6th release on M Records from the Amsterdam based dub outfit led by Canadian bassist / multi-instrumentalist Ryan Moore ( from the cult legends - The Tear Garden and The Legendary Pink Dots )."Dub Plate Selection" is over 70 minutes long and is a collection of upbeat new tracks and special Dub Plate versions
of older or unreleased material. In the dance, dub and reggae scenes "Dub Plates" or "specials" are one of a kind lacquer acetates or DAT tapes containing exclusive songs or mixes made available by producers and music artists to select djs and sound systems. All the material on "Dub Plate Selection" was previously only
made available to sound systems like Jah Shaka (UK), King Shiloh (NL), certain djsand for Twilight Circus Dub Sound System live shows around the world. Each cd booklet contains a unique drawing made by either Ryan Moore or the Dutch artist Ania Rachmat -every cd is one of a kind!
Since its inception in 1995, theTwilight Circus Dub Sound System has become known as one of the most innovative and original dub outfits working in the music scene today! With a consistent output of quality releases and hundreds of live shows (an entertaining spectacle involving bone-shaking live dub, humour, surreal performance art and occasional guests like sword swallower / fire breather extraordinaire Istvan Noumenon from Cirque Du Soleil, Mark Spybey of DVOA and cEvin Key from Download/Skinny Puppy) performed in clubs, halls, festivals throughout Europe and North America, Twilight Circus has won the interest of numerous music fans and also the support of top sound systems and djs alike including NYC illbient dj - DJSpooky, U.K. dj Mixmaster Morris,
and The Earthdoctor (U.K.) who are playing twilight circus out in live sets.
The recordings of Twilight Circus Dub Sound System are made almost entirely with live instrumentation and use no programming or computer sequencing - the few samples or loops are played live and "on the fly" to the multi track! This music is played straight from the heart!
Twilight Circus Dub Sound System ringmaster Ryan Moore was heavily influenced by dub and U.K./JA roots at the start of his musical career in Vancouver, Canada in 1981. His first recorded experiments with dub took place in the early 80's. At age 29, Ryan
Moore is a veteran of the alternative music scene, having worked with artists like Skinny Puppy, Download, Single Gun
Theory, and appears on over 40 cd productions with various artists. (see discography)
